Lloyd Jeffrey Mallan
Campaign Statement
U.S. Representative, Second District, Hawaii 2008
Our rights have been evaporating. Our economy is sinking. Respect for human life is disappearing. The media no longer reports facts. Instead they have morphed into a prime spokesman for government policies. Dissenting opinions are suppressed and laughed at. Only accepted views are encouraged within mainstream media. Our constitution is ignored and abused. Fears are stimulated to increase State control. The “power of the people,” through elective process, has almost lost importance.
America has become a Corporatist nation. Government created corporate entities. Now they compliment each other. The “limited liability” status of corporations was granted by government and government granted itself “limited liability” privileges, too.
Corporatism breeds militarism. Militarism has infected our politics. The news has been canceled. The constitution is seen as obsolete.
Restore accountability. Politicians must retain responsibility for the legislation they enact. Spending for wars, destroying individual liberties and property rights have harmed the economy. Money is printed heedlessly to satisfy congresses’ voracious spending habit. Back dollars with a valuable commodity like gold so that congress is restricted only to spend relative to the market value of the commodity.
Withdrawing “limited liability” status from government and corporations will succeed better than regulations and regulatory agencies designed to prevent abuses. Without the special immunities bestowed upon them, corporations and politicians will be as accountable for their actions as you and me. We must elect only those that will enforce the constitution and bill of rights, removing those who are bringing The United States into dictatorship and economic recession.
